Using the Kingdom Character Flash Cards, and a “Spotlight” on a “Stage” such as a flashlight (or several for some of the other kids to hold) and a special area of the room like a special mat or step to stand on top of, have each of the kids take turns being “on stage.” (You can even use different colored flashlights if you have them.)

When you invite them one at a time to come “on stage,” shine the flashlight(s) on them and explain to them that when we let Father God’s light shine on, in, and through us, we get to discover or see who we truly are! Not only this, but the world gets to see this, too, and it glorifies our God! See Supporting Scripture: 2 Corinthians 3:18: “…We all show the Lord’s glory, and we are being changed to be like him. This change in us brings more and more glory. And it comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” (ICB). 

You can then choose one of the Kingdom Character Flash Cards to read over them, while the light is shining on them. Explain to them that this is who they are and it will be seen when they allow God to shine His light in, on, and through them. Then have all the class cheer for them, and call them by their Kingdom Character Flash Card name, i.e. “Warrior Kyle.” Explain to the class that God has made us all to have and be that Kingdom Character, too. Then ask the class, “Who else would like to see who they are?” Continue until all the children have had an opportunity.

Through this exercise the children will learn the character and identity that God has knitted inside each of them—who they truly are—just waiting to be illuminated by His Spirit through them as they trust and believe in Him.
