IT'S TIME TO CELEBRATE!
ACTIVITY NAME: It’s Time to Celebrate!
WHAT YOU’LL NEED: Solid colored paper party hats, sequins, craft glue, stickers, markers, music with music player, Kingdom Character Flash Cards
ACTIVITY TIME: 20-30 minutes
Explain to the children that their lives are so precious to God that He celebrates them! He uniquely and carefully crafted each one of them to be beautiful and to have exactly what they need to be a success. As you hand out one party hat to each child, instruct them to think about the best celebration they can think of. (Give examples such as: Birthdays, Weddings, etc.) Help the children use the craft items to decorate their unique party hat.
Explain that just as we like to celebrate our friends on their birthdays, God loves to celebrate us for who he created us to be. He likes to rejoice over us for the unique purposes we each have. As they cover their hats with colors, shapes, and sparkles, explain how God covers them with celebration and promises too.
Ask the children to imagine that God is throwing them a party. What types of things would be at the party? What would the celebration be about? (Give examples for these things and then have the children come up with their own.) Explain that God wants His children to also celebrate others. Ask them if they’ve ever been to a party or celebration. Who was being celebrated? What for? What was it like?
Once the children begin to grasp that their Heavenly father wants to celebrate them, put on some music for a “dance party.” One by one read over them the Kingdom Character Flash Cards. You can even have them repeat these statements over their friends and have them cheer and ‘celebrate’ one another.
Kingdom Character Flash Cards: You are courageous! You are full of God’s love! This set of 10 flash cards speaks directly to a child’s character in Jesus as responsible, honorable, loyal, serving, and more. Verbal children can repeat statements aloud while parents and caregivers can minister these truths to younger ones. We can speak Kingdom principles directly into a child’s destiny that are sowing seeds of truth into their very core. Cards can be printed and laminated for hands-on use or viewed on a digital device.

I had quite the funny experience with my three-year-old yesterday and I thought surely there is a blog for this moment. This morning when I woke up, I asked Holy Spirit what the title of the article should be, and I immediately heard, “what goes in must come out!” I burst into laughter thinking “very funny Jesus,” as the experience that I am about to share with you has to do with potty training. With 18-month-old twins and a baby on the way, I have been quite determined to make sure our oldest, Judah—who just turned 3—is fully potty trained before our little princess gets here. (Because let’s be honest FOUR children in diapers at once is A LOT!!!) Judah has done a great job in his learning process and has really been receptive to the reward system that we have used as a motivator. However, we have been facing the hurdle of getting him to go “big potty” (number two) on the toilet.
Throughout over 30 years of ministering identity and destiny to children, we have put together many prayers, identity statements, and tools to empower and speak truth into precious young lives. Here we have the privilege of being able to offer some of these resources just for YOU to minister life in your very own home.
Through this simple, but powerful lesson plan, teach your children the authority that they have over the enemy and how they have the power to choose what they will allow to affect their heart and soul.
